Wrexham Half-Day Tour

Join us on a tour through the heart of historic Wrexham where we blend history, food, and drink into one unforgettable experience. Start with *The Wrexham Lager Tasting Experience* at The Bank Wine Bar & Bistro, pairing the award-winning Wrexham Lager with specially crafted dishes using local ingredients, all in a charming, historic setting.

From there, the tour moves on to St Giles Parish Church, the largest medieval parish church in Wales, where you’ll discover centuries of history and admire its stunning architecture. Next, you’ll visit Vault 33, Wrexham’s newest upscale cocktail bar, owned by former Wrexham AFC player Neil Roberts, where you can sample a specialty cocktail and enjoy the bar’s beautiful Wrexham-themed mural and snug seating.

The experience concludes with an exclusive tour of the Wrexham Lager Brewery, guided by one of its master brewers, where you can learn about the traditional brewing methods behind the lagers tasted earlier. Round off the day at Jones Cafe with a classic Wrexham treat—fish and chips from Jones’s Fish and Chip Shop, a family-run institution in Wrexham since 1911.

This weekly tour (currently runs every other Friday for a maximum of 12 people) welcomes individuals and small groups to explore Wrexham’s unique heritage together.

Please get in touch if you would like to book this tour privately. Due to the tour visiting a working brewery, this may not be possible on certain dates or times.

The Experience includes three food pairings and a 165ml tasting of each of the three lagers.

The Bank Wine Bar and Bistro is situated in the historic heart of the city’s conservation area. The Wrexham Lager Beer Company was established in 1882 in Wrexham, over 140 years of brewing knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation in Wrexham.

3.00pm- 4.00pm
The tour next visits St Giles Parish Church, a site of Christian worship for over 700 years. It is “not a Museum of Saints but a Spiritual Hospital for the Broken and Wounded”.

It has been described as “A Glorious Masterpiece” by W. D. Caroe and “the Glory of the Marches” by Sir Simon Jenkins. It is included in his list of “Top 30” buildings in Wales, drawn principally from Cathedrals, Country Houses and Castles.

Cocktail Experience at Vault 33

You will be able to sample their infamous cocktails, either a ‘Banoffee Martini’, made with Welsh Aber Fall’s salted toffee gin Liqueur, or a ‘Porn star Martini’ made with British vodka, or an ‘Old Fashioned’, made with Four Walls whisky, or an alternative drink of your choice.

You will also have the opportunity to see in person, the stunning renovation of the building and its beautiful mural, which is an ‘Ode to everything Wrexham and Wales’.
