Itinerary

Day 1 – Bristol, Blaenavon & Brecon

From Bristol, start at the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, where coal and iron once powered modern industry. Enjoy a tasting at the Blaenavon Cheddar Company before heading into the stunning Brecon Beacons and on to the charming market town of Brecon.

Day 2 – Wye Valley Castles & Abbeys

Explore the romantic ruins of Tintern Abbey on the River Wye, then discover Chepstow Castle, one of Britain’s earliest stone fortresses. If time allows, stop in Abergavenny, Wales’s food capital with its independent shops, before returning to your hotel in the evening.

Day 3 – Brecon Beacons & Whisky Tasting

Tour the sweeping landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Choose between a gentle canal walk or the Brecon Mountain Railway. End with a whisky tasting at Penderyn Distillery. Evening transfer to Cardiff.

Day 4 – Cardiff: Capital of Wales

Day 6 – Swansea to Tenby

Travel west via Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum, followed by a hands-on lovespoon carving workshop. Continue to colourful Tenby. Evening free to stroll the seaside town.

Day 7 – Pembrokeshire Coast & Dylan Thomas

Set out on a wildlife boat safari (weather permitting) to spot puffins, seals, and seabirds, then visit the charming town of Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas once wrote overlooking the sea. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to relax on Tenby’s beaches or browse its shops. Stay: Tenby (4*)

Day 8 – St Davids & Roman Caerleon → Bath

Take a scenic coastal drive to St Davids to visit its cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, then back eastwards to explore Roman Caerleon with its amphitheatre and legendary links to Arthur’s Round Table. Conclude with an evening arrival in Bath.

Day 9 – Bath & Wells → Cornwall

Morning free to explore Bath’s Georgian architecture, Roman Baths, and shops. Continue to Wells Cathedral before entering Cornwall. Afternoon visit to the world-famous Eden Project.

Day 10 – Tintagel & North Cornwall Coast

Walk the dramatic clifftops of Tintagel Castle, birthplace of Arthurian myth. Explore Port Isaac and Padstow, with time for a seafood dinner or harbour stroll.

Day 11 – Land’s End & St Michael’s Mount

Visit the open-air Minack Theatre, carved into the cliffs, before standing at Land’s End, Britain’s rugged tip. Afternoon crossing to St Michael’s Mount, a tidal island castle. Evening in Falmouth.

Day 12 – Devon & Journey’s End

Travel through fishing villages Looe and Polperro before enjoying a cream tea in Devon. Final stop at Exeter to see the magnificent Gothic Cathedral, then on to Bristol. Tour ends in Bristol by evening.
