Itinerary

Tour begins in Wrexham (Day 1 morning). Drop-off available in Chester or Liverpool (Day 5 afternoon). Exact times to be confirmed upon booking.

Day 1: Wrexham – Pontcysyllte – Llangollen – Dolgellau

Step into the heart of North Wales, from the medieval spire of Wrexham’s St Giles’ Church to the “stream in the sky” at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Explore Llangollen’s riverside charm before winding into Snowdonia.

  • Begin in Wrexham with a visit to St Giles’ Church, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales.
  • Discover the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and nearby Chirk Aqueduct and Horseshoe Falls.
  • Wander Llangollen’s heritage sites – steam railway, Plas Newydd, and riverside promenade.
  • Pass through Bala and view the lake before arriving in Dolgellau.

Overnight: 4* Hotel in the Dolgellau area

Day 2: Dolgellau – Harlech – Blaenau Ffestiniog – Menai Bridge

A Day of castles, slate quarries, and dramatic landscapes, arriving at your Menai Bridge base.

  • Scenic drive along the Mawddach Estuary.
  • Tour Harlech Castle (UNESCO). If time permits stroll over the sand dunes to the stunning Harlech beach.
  • Enter The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales (UNESCO) – visit Blaenau Ffestiniog and optionally ride the Ffestiniog Railway.
  • Optional: Descend into Llechwedd Slate Caverns.
  • Scenic drive through Snowdonia to Menai Bridge.
  • Check in to hotel in Menai Bridge or Llanberis.
  • Option to dine at Dylan’s Restaurant Menai Bridge, a renowned local seafood and Welsh cuisine venue.

Overnight: Overnight 4* Hotel in the Menai Bridge or Llanberis area.

Day 3: Anglesey & Beaumaris – Menai Bridge Base

Explore Anglesey’s coastal charm and medieval heritage before returning to Menai Bridge.

  • Cross Menai Suspension Bridge to Anglesey.
  • Visit Beaumaris Castle (UNESCO) and stroll the town or pier.
  • Brief stop at Llanfair PG, the longest place name in Europe, located on Anglesey Island. 
  • Optional: Explore nearby Llanddwyn Island or local beaches or visit the Halon Mon Anglesey Sea Salt factory and guided tour.
  • Return to Menai Bridge or Llanberis for overnight.

Day 4: Menai Bridge – Llanberis – Betws-y-Coed – Llanrwst – Conwy – Llandudno

A scenic day combining mountains, rivers, forests, and medieval heritage.

  • Travel via Llanberis: optional stops include Snowdon Mountain Railway (lower stations for short walks), Llyn Padarn lakeside, or Snowdon Slate Museum.
  • Continue through Betws-y-Coed, a picturesque village in the Conwy Valley with forested walks and waterfalls.
  • Pass Llanrwst with its historic bridge and church.
  • Arrive in Conwy: visit Conwy Castle (UNESCO) and Plas Mawr.
  • Continue to Llandudno, stroll along Victorian pier, or take the optional Great Orme Tramway.

Overnight: 4* Hotel in the Llandudno or Conwy area.

Day 5: Llandudno – Bodnant Garden – Departure

  • Visit Bodnant Garden (1.5 hrs), one of Britain’s finest horticultural treasures.
  • Depart for Chester or Liverpool, concluding your Welsh adventure.
