During the Cardiff City of Arcades Experience, you’ll enjoy delicious samples of international food and drink during a leisurely stroll around Cardiff. Our guides are all local and Welsh-speaking.

Note: The tour includes quite a bit of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable footwear.
Some of the venues are accessible via steps.
We sometimes have a little rain in Wales so an umbrella might be handy!
Some venues serve tap water, if you would like to bring a water bottle with you, there are refill points on the route.

The City of Arcades Food Experience includes a relaxed stroll through Cardiff’s beautiful Victorian and Edwardian arcades and Cardiff Market as well as the chance
to discover the historic city centre and admire the well-known landmarks – Cardiff Castle and Principality Stadium.

Our first stop is at Waterloo Tearooms where you’ll enjoy a small second breakfast ( we advise a light breakfast before the tour).
On the menu – warm banana bread/smashed avocado on toast plus local coffee/speciality tea.

Our second tasting is at Bacareto – a relaxed cafe bar inspired by the ciccheti bacari of Venice.
On the menu – seasonal arancini plus a small glass of red/white/sparkling Italian wine or alcohol free options.

Tasting stop number 3 is in Nighthawks Wine Bar – a friendly and contemporary wine bar opposite Cardiff Castle, situated in Castle Arcade.
On the menu: Glass of white/red/rose wine accompanied by a taster portion of cheese toastie and tomato chutney.

Tasting stops 4 and 5 are in Cardiff Market.
Olives, vine leaves and hummus at Mediterranean Foods followed by Southern Indian food at Tukka Tuk (Anand George’s Indian Kitchen), on the menu Kerala Fried Chicken and Bombay Fries/Dahl and spicy cauliflower.

Enjoy 2 delicious warm Welshcakes, fresh from the griddle at Fabulous Welshcakes, as we make our way to our final tasting stop.

We end the tour in style at Bar 44 Tapas Bar with a glass of Cava/Toro Blanco(craft pale ale)/Pedro Ximénez sherry/soft drinks/coffee or tea with chocolate truffle.
